ARC Raiders PvE doesn't reward you for simply grabbing the gun with the biggest damage number. You're shooting machines, not nervous players in a hallway. ARCs have plates, joints, exposed bits, and horrible timing. If you panic, they'll make you burn half your bag for almost nothing. You can farm smaller ARCs, pressure medium threats like Leapers and Rocketeers, and still defend yourself without swapping into panic mode. Aphelion is the smoother high-end pick. Its burst fire feels steady, it handles both PvE and PvP, and it doesn't ask you to play perfectly every second. If you're carrying rare gear, that bit of comfort counts.

The middle tiers need a clear job

Ferro and Torrente are solid, but they aren't miracle workers. Ferro can hit hard and feels good when you're picking shots, though it can be slow when the fight gets messy. Torrente brings steady fire, but range and ammo pressure can become annoying fast. Then you've got weapons like Venator, Arpeggio, Tempest, Renegade, Osprey, and Bettina. They can clear smaller machines. No problem there. The issue starts when armor gets thicker and weak points become harder to expose. At that point, you're not fighting well. You're just spending ammo loudly.

Guns to avoid when machines are the main target

Stitcher, Bobcat, Il Toro, Vulcano, and Kettle can have uses, mostly when PvP is the bigger concern, but they're not what I'd call serious ARC farming tools. They chew through resources or struggle to produce clean part breaks. Rattler, Hairpin, and Burletta are even worse for this job. Sure, you can bring them if you're desperate, but you'll feel every bad trade. For PvE, build around purpose: Hullcracker for heavy boss damage, Jupiter for safe precision, Equalizer for armor stripping, Anvil for budget value, and Aphelion for flexible raids.
